Strategic Plan

St. Augustine Cathedral School is accredited through the Michigan Non-Public Schools Accrediting Association. Our Accreditation Site Visit was November 5 and 6, 2026. Accreditation is a data-driven process, based on the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools (NSBECS). 

St. Augustine Cathedral School provided evidence of best practices in 13 standards and 76 benchmarks, over the last 5 years. The Accreditation Site Team evaluated the evidence provided, rated the school on a 4 point scale, and offered comments to guide school improvement work, as needed. The summary letter written by site team chairs and addressed to MANS leadership is included below. 

This Strategic Plan is based on the outcome of the Accreditation Site Visit. It is written to guide the school community as it maintains and strengthens its Catholic Identity, Governance and Leadership, Academic Excellence, and Operational Vitality. Work on the Strategic Plan was begun by the School Improvement Team once we received confirmation that we are re-accredited through MNSAA. 

The School Improvement Team summarized feedback from the site team under the heading “Explanation”. Using the language of a Level 4, “exceeding the benchmark’’, from the NSBECS scoring rubrics, a “Vision” was established for the school over the next 5 years. On May 1, 2026 faculty and staff came together to brainstorm strategic action steps that will move us toward our vision. The last step was to choose action steps for SY26-27, which are presented in the document.

Technology Plan

Educating Through Technology

The mission of St. Augustine Cathedral School gives students opportunities to encounter Christ and be witnesses of His love for others. As digital natives, students develop a healthy use of technology and are witness to the dignity of the human person in our world. 

This vision for technology shall support the evolution of instructional strategies that foster interactive, collaborative, and innovative teaching and learning. It shall also promote:

• Curriculum integration
• Higher-level thinking skills and human achievement
• Career preparation
• Lifelong learning
• Interaction within school, homes, community, and the world
• Communications and knowledge connection

This technology plan is established as a requirement of our accreditation through MANS. The technology plan is written by the principal, in collaboration with the technology director and building tech supervisor, and reviewed by the school improvement team.
